News & Updates
2006-2008 (3-yr average) CENSUS
FROM THE AMERICAN COMMUNITY SURVEY NOW AVAILABLE!
The 2006-2008 Census, a 3-year average drawn
from the Census Bureau's American Community Survey (ACS), provides detailed
data on race,
ethnicity,
income, occupation, ancestry, family structure, language, and more. Many
data elements not available in the individual-year censuses are available here.
For New York City, this provides data for Sub-Borough
Areas. For New York State, it provides data for most Counties.
Note: For some data items and some geographic areas, no data will appear because
there were too few cases in the Census Bureau's sample to provide a reliable
count. Some counties in New York State do not appear because they have fewer
than 20,000 people, the Census Bureau's limit for the 2006-2008 version
of
the ACS.
The 2005-2009 Census, a 5-year average from the ACS available later
in 2010, will provide detailed information down to the census tract level.
Infoshare Online will provide this Census information soon after it is released
by the Census Bureau
